Brand new pre-built
Ryzen 2700x, MSI b450-a pro max, rtx2060
Gfx drivers are up to date. The chipset drivers were not installed, but they made no difference.

After waking from sleep it runs really sluggish and 1 core is running at 100%.
It benches fine (until it has been to sleep)
Reboot normally fixes the issue.
Ideas?

In the past I've managed to fix stuff like this by disabling fast startup and hibernation and manually deleting the Hiberfil file and then re-enabling them but isn't always that easy.

how do you disable hibernation? just in windows or is it in the bios as well?

So have now resorted to a completely clean install of Windows.
What I have noticed is that a single procves will fully load a single core, windows installer for example.
Ryzen master software shows 98/100% EDC and then the computer runs badly, just dragging a window around the screen will lag quite a bit.
start menu is lagging, just generally poor performance.

Memtest has been run and passed 3 passes.
have managed to run Unigine a few consecutive runs and that was ok (when it was ok)

what temps do you have? perhaps the cpu cooler is not seated well and is thermally throttling?

Should have mentioned that, temps are fine, its a coolermaster 240mm AIO.
Pump set to full speed in bios.

its not just after waking from sleep now either, its doing it at other times as well.
I thought I had sorted it yesterday by resetting bios and uninstalling Ryzen master but woke it from sleep this morning and it did it again, left it alone whilst doing something else for an hour and it had frozen completely.
It was still doing it on a completely fresh install yesterday as well (not just a refresh)
Going to try some different ram next

HW monitor will show either 1 or 2 cores pinned at 100% usage, and each time it will be a different process that is using CPU.
Has had different ram in for almost 2 hours now without any issue.

Going to put the original RAM back in , and see if it happens again, if it does I am going to put the suspected faulty RAM in another system and see if it causes a problem in that one.

Ram speed or bios/chipset drivers have caused similar issues for me in the past. The last time it was the bios, which once updated sorted everything.

dont you need the latest ryzen chipset drivers, then go to control panel > power and select the Ryzen power profile to help with stuff like this ? Also Latest 1.0.0.3 Ryzen ABBA BIOS patch ? - just a thought
