S.T.A.L.K.E.R. anyone?

I just forget about games like these and when they come out then i start looking at what its got. Waited ages for Lockdown constantly checking the site and got really hyped up about that coming out and look how it turned out.

Plus dont forget that the game has changed so much now since its initial inception (not having the random big booms that radically changed the game arena) plus the game itself has been finished for over a year now n that they have been solely working on tweaking the AI and thats all (recent PC Gamer UK interview).

I covered a games exhibition in london a couple of years ago and saw this on a stand playing multiplayer LAN and was dead excited about it but thought as it was gonna be released any day then that I wouldn't stress about playing it. Trust me, if I knew that I would be waiting years later for this title I woulda camped on the STALKER stand over the whole week and played it to death lol - even tho it was only multiplayer.

I too agree with the thoughts that at the time it did indeed look impressive but in comparison to the super duper games and their gfx engines of recent it really doesnt look that amazing anymore. I will welcome the day of its release but I now no longer hold my breath nor care for the whole anticipation of it all.

What happened in Chernobyl should not be made into a game, men where sent to dig a tunnel under the core and suffered death sentences they where only a few feet from the melted core and snt in to cool the core down. Big Mistake.

They got about a weeks wage for a days work only few survived, robots went on the roof to remove uranium rods and they broke down so they sent on men for 10 SECONDS, tbh this game is only trying to make out what happened after it.

RIP

I can see your point, but whats the difference between that and the 100s of thousands that died during WWII on Dday for example? I agree it was a tragedy but I am sure at the time they were trying to do something to help the situation.

A lot of games these days glorify and sell themselves on terrible things that have happened in history, i hope games like this try to send over a good message about the things that went on.

cheets64 if you stuck to your moral viewpoint with regards to gaming you'd have pretty much nothing to play,
same with movies regarding war and other disasters.
hmmm, i think if you check the game out it has all kind of wierd monsters with tenticle mouths n raving mad dog like thingys !!!
anyways, this did look rather good a few yrs ago and is scheduled for 1st Qtr 2007.
lets face it , it cant be any worse than doom3 was;p
