Aye there's a problem with games which are so hyped though. I think if I had been a big HL fan then I would have been dissapointed with HL2, although I had nothing to compare it to (still haven't played first one) and enjoyed it like mad (still is my favourite single player game of all time).

That list of next-gen graphics stuff certainly made it sound randy.

I think the game will still be as immense. Like some people have said, it won't the the WOW factor it could have had, but it could still be a first class game!

Graphics are not everything and i am sure the game will play MUCH better now than it would have 2/3 years ago. They have taken out some of the features like driving the vehicles, but apparently they made the game very disjointed.

I think it looks great. Appears to be very immersive from the screen shots.

Graphics don't mean anything in the grand scheme of things. Yes it looks nice, but surely playability is more important? And this should hopefully have it in bucket loads.

please bare in mind tho that the finished game will be far from the vision they set out to achieve all those years ago. Now it is indeed linear and no longer open ended. Plus one of the biggest changes is that there are no longer going to be any of the big morphing fallouts where the whole zone re-shapes itself and anything caught outside is killed. The finished game will be a mere shadow of it's intended goal and as such I won't be looking forward to this as much - don't be fooled into thinking it's anything more than a linear fps set in the area around chernobyl now. I mean come on, they had so much difficulty with the AI even tho apparently the game itself was completed around 18 months ago - that speaks bundles alone. The developers were really poor at keeping their fanbase informed of updates etc. I fell in love with the idea of this game but as its developed and fallen back due to constraints I have had the opportunity to find another love in other games as this one is just not going to be achieving all it promises to and I have no intention of being heartbroken!

tbh dont see either game coming March letalone April, bet they will both get delayed till Summer/Fall.

I would love to know the reasons why this is years behind shedule. Mine is still on preorder, got it at a cracking 17.99 but I hope it doesn't disappoint when it slips through the door

Nope, you are infact wrong crysis is set for March release but EA will give them more time if they need it - "As to when we can expect it to ship, Yerli said that they're currently on track for a spring release, though he also said that Crytek will not rush the game if more time is needed."

Thx tom some positive news at least about Stalker and Crysis, I got a guy feeling perhaps stalker may arrive along, at least us PC gamers have something cos Supreme commanders due next month and then Stalker/CnC3.....

Ie a good excuse to get a Vista PC and ATI next gen card
