S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series no longer working please help

Hey guys, been having a few problems getting my stalker games working, the strange thing is they worked perfect the last time i played them.

the only changes since i last played them are an upgrade to 460GTX SLi, i'm currantly running the latest beta (267.24) but was running the 266.58 whql set

i have deleted the game files (steam games) and re-downloaded but still nothing, so i did it again but this time i deleted the folders from the steam apps folder and then re-downloaded again but still nothing :(

Stalker-SoC starts loading but will crash before even getting to any game screens and have to end process from task manager

Stalker-CS crashes straight to desktop

Stalker-CoP again CTD but with the bonus of a box saying xray engine 1.6 has crashed.......... :mad:

i'm pulling my hair out here i really wanted to have another run through with these games and CoP now has the complete mod out so was really looking forward to giving that a try, so any help would be great, system spec in sig :)
 
Have u tryed deleting there config files can't remember if there in the game folder or in the my documents folder to which so many are

+1, and there in my documents, also does steam keep them upto date?, might be worth getting the patches and applying them
 
Cheers for the reply's guys, right steam is set to keep the games updated so hopefully not that, the folders in my docs only have folders for SoC and CS but deleting them does nothing :(, i've also tried disabling SLi with no affect :(

I'm also now having problms with test drive unlimited 2, it starts the screen go's black and starts loading but about 5 seconds later i'm back to desktop, now i haven't played my pc for a while as i've been playing gran turismo 5 in all my free time but i've got to the stage on b-spec mode (manager mode :) ) where i only have the endurance races left to do so need something to play while the PS3 grinds away on 24 hour races, the only change to my system is service pack 1 and the normal windows updates....... could it be this?
 
Looks like I've sorted it, it was sp1 after all looks like there's some bug with dx9 games the strange thing is call of Pripyat is dx10??? Oh well looks like it's sorted now...... 1 last thing there's ment to be a fix for the sp1 dx9 bug but couldn't find it so if any others are having a problem I just uninstalled sp1 and happy days :D
