Hi!

Years ago in i assume a steam sale i picked up this game and i believe its sequel in the hope of getting into it! i didnt give it much time back then but it recently came up again in a conversation and i thought it would retry it!

i have just installed the Autumn mod which does make the environments look a lot better.

my main gripe at the moment is the U.i and map system feeling very bad but thats probably due to its age.

i managed to find the first quest and must say the fire fight was very intense i loved it! I set it to master and turned off cross hairs etc.

any pro tips or advice for a new comer? i understand master is the better choice as the weapons actually do more damage to you but also to the enemies making that quite a positive point?

Really wanted to carry on last night but couldnt get passed the error. Maybe i should cut my losses reinstall and play without the mod, but it looked really nice!

I hear this one is great too^

Just reinstalled, looks much worse without the mid but what if I get really far and it bugs out again hmmm. I'll try the complete mod instead and see how I get on with that! I hear some say that mod makes it a bit too easy over the vanilla game but I imagine that's super pro stalker fans not liking change? Lol

I hear clear sky is the weakest of the 3? Focuses more on action rather than what made stalker unique is that right?

Will get my teeth in this week let's all play and use this thread to compare our frustrations :D

Clearsky was my favourite :o. It also has the red forest, which is one of the most atmospheric and creepy places in all 3 games.

I didn't notice a difference in action, or anything else. It had a higher focus on artifact hunting than the first, which i really enjoyed. I have only played it with the complete mod, so not sure how different the stock game is.

Can't argue with that! I haven't played it just seemed to be a bit of a general consensus when I was googling about! Your description sounds good to me!

^ got jump scared last night and was genuinely happy about it! Just searching a house and turned around, this boar/monster was right in my face! It wasn't scripted just came on naturally due to the atmosphere. I've stuck with complete mod for now running on Veteran

Been playing a horror game recently called evil within and I'm like 10hrs into that and not had a scare once! And it certainly tries.
