Hi Guys,

Just been playing this on my new computer (listed in sig) and I am really enjoying it I also have the complete mod installed.

My question is, is this game notorious for BSOD's? As I seem to be getting a few which is really annoying!

Just wanted to know what experiences you guys have had with this game.

BSODs? Hell no, had it crash a couple of times but it's very, very rare.

I would look into the issue you are having as a BSOD can never be considered normal.

You mention you suspect for OC, have you tested it thoroughly? 4.4 is a pretty hefty clock.

Ok well i have had just had a quick look on the Asus website for Bios updates and noticed there have been three, i currently have the middle one and the newest helps system stability and memory compatability. So that might help im guessing?

This is the error im having

I am hoping a bios update will help with this.

Well I had it two hours prime 95 stable at small FFT with temps no higher than 80 but I guess that isn't always concrete.

The only time that I used to get a crash with that game, never a BSOD, was when I used too many conflicting mods. Otherwise the game was rock solid.

I played the game shortly after launch and it did have its bugs yes.. Desktop crashes and graphical glitches. However, it was worth it as the game itself is great. Loved the dynamic weather effect and open endness at the time

I've never had any BSOD's with S.T.A.L.K.E.R at all, only 1 or 2 crashes in about 12 full playthroughs. The most crashes i've had was with a mod called People Soup.

A couple of lock-ups but nothing more (running complete MOD). More annoying is that mine bugged out right near the end at the cutscenes and I can't complete the game! :(

Ok well I updated the Bios to the latest version and ran memtest for 2 hours which produced no errors at all which I was happy with but this didn't explain why I was getting BSOD's.

So I decided to do a blend test on prime and it had a BSOD within a couple of minutes which I was surprised with as I had it two hours stable on the small fft test.

But anyway I dropped the voltage down to 1.2v and lowered the clock down to 4.3ghz (from 4.4ghz) and it completed 8 and half hours of prime95 on blend over night without a hitch and roughly a 15 degree drop across all 4 cores which I am very happy with.

I will fire up Stalker tonight and hope this has fixed the problem.
