S-Video or RCA into PC

My mum has asked me to put her old tape camcorder films of horses/family/dogs etc that she accumulated over the years onto DVD, and in the meantime I thought I'd back them up on my PC.

I presume it's just a case of getting an S Video to USB cable adaptor and then the appropriate piece of software on the PC?

Any recommendations please.

So something like this wouldn't work? I don't really want a PCI card, USB device will do and OcUK don't seem to stock them.

If its a digital8 (or whatever the VHS equivalent was) see if you can use Firewire.

Explain? Surely it is not hard to transfer VHS to my PC with a simple cable?
