There's way too many connections around these days!

I am planning to transfer some videotapes from vcr to dvd, i have done this in the past using a tv capture card which has since died. I have an Asus Nvidia 7600GT which i believe has an s-video connection however the lead supplied is RGB. Does anyone know if there is a way my graphics card can capture the image from the VCR or do i need to purchase a new capture card?

Your 7600GT may have a S-video out but does it do video in? If it is VIVO then it will normally support both s-video or composite (and the mini-din will have 7 or 9 pins instead of 4).

As far as I know the only RGB capture card is the Sweetspot, however very few VCRs output RGB anyway. You can use the same cable for RGB as for composite and stereo sound (three cables with the same connector), the latter is more likely for a VCR.
