Hi there,



Im looking for some advice;


My current setup;
Acer Predator 4k2k XB280HK 28"
980ti SLI
16GB RAM

I brought the acer monitor as i wanted to play games in 4k. While this works and i get decent frames (between 50 and 60fps) in most games but im kinda grumpy that im stuck at 60hz.

I need a 2nd monitor for work and was thinking while im at it, i should get a gaming one so i can play @ 1440p 144hz.

I was thinking of getting the Dell S2716DG 27" as it ticks all the boxes and has really great reviews.

Can anyone comment if this is a good idea? Should I stick with 4k now that ive become accustom to it?
 
As someone who has both a 1440p and a 4k monitor - the Acer Xb281hk which is basically the newer version of yours I would rather stick with 4k.
Granted the 1440p Samsung is nothing special and the Gsync is really what sets the 2 apart but I have to say I definitely notice the lost sharpness that comes at 1440 as opposed to 4k.
Having said that, I have yet to see a high refresh rate monitor in action so on that side of the argument I can't really comment. For me the higher resolution wins, especially in Just Cause 3 which I'm playing a lot of at the moment.
