As title says is it worth buying this monitor for 371 delivered, seems quite a bit cheaper then most other sellers, prob because it is coming from Italy. Been looking for a monitor for a while now since I upgraded to a 1080ti.
Although ideally I want something around £200 mark QHD+decent image for all around use.

Depends if you want g-sync or not. I'm sure you could get better image quality for the money from a IPS or VA panel but without g-sync.

I'd also be very nervous about buying a monitor from Italy. Monitor quality control across all brands seems almost none existent reading through reviews and users on this forum. So there is a higher than normal chance you might need to send it back and that would be a nightmare.

Totally agree, I think a monitor purchase carries the greatest risk of disappointment, especially as manufacturers see dead lazy stuck pixels as an acceptable part of production.
So you need a store with a really good returns policy.

Case in point, I've just bought the Dell 24" version (1080Ti gaming at 1440p I think is the sweet spot) from Amazon, and even though market sellers were selling it cheaper than Amazon themselves, I paid the higher cost to get it straight from Amazon. Lo and behold the monitor came with a tiny scratch on the screen, it took me a while to notice it. 5 minutes later I'd requested a replacement and organised to drop the monitor off at my local shop, and two days later the new replacement monitor arrived. And its perfect :)
All automated and super smooth. Couldn't be happier.

Just something to bare in mind.

I have this monitor. Default gamma is very washed out and requires calibration through software, there is no hardware adjustment for gamma in the OSD. Also, there is a problem with banding in certain scenes. Blacks can look a bit grey even after calibration due to the TN panel and while viewing angles are good for a TN they are poor compared to an IPS, with heavy gamma shift. Image quality is objectively worse than my Eizo EV2436W 1920x1200 IPS monitor that I bought for £300 in 2013. However, it can look reasonably close after calibration and profiling, colours look very close just blacks are a little disappointing. Just remember that a significant number of games ignore your colour profile, particularly in full screen.

For gaming it's really good though with fast response times, 144 Hz, 2560x1440 looks much crisper and an ultra low motion blur mode (cannot be used with Gsync) and Gsync is really good. If you are not doing much gaming or don't have Nvidia then there are much better screens for your money in terms of image quality with VA and IPS panels.

this is something i always find confusing in the monitor and tv section

every time someone is talking about a monitor they talk about viewing angles and how IPS is better. well i don't know about you but i have my monitor on a desk and i sit in front of the desk. so i look at the screen straight on 100% of the time. so viewing angles makes zero difference.

the exact opposite is touted in the tv section. you want a VA panel because of better blacks. IPS sucks as it doesn't have as good blacks as VA or go as bright, etc. well no usually a tv is watched by several people especially in a living room. it's impossible for everyone to sit in front of it so everyone should be buying IPS TV's made by LG, however they opt for VA by samsung, etc.

image quality isn't an issue. just buy a colormunki.

I'm just mentioning viewing angles in case it's important to the OP. It's not important to me otherwise I wouldn't have bought it. However, the default gamma and grey blacks are disappointing defects in an otherwise great gaming monitor. If the OP does lots of gaming it's definitely worth it, if they do not they may want to look elsewhere.

if you didn't game why else would you be looking at a 144hz g sync monitor?

It's a question of priorities, I'm just pointing out some problems with the monitor that may be deal breakers for some more picky people so that the OP is aware before spending the money. It's a great gaming monitor with some caveats, end of story.

Just looked, that bit of kit seems to be over £100. I don't see that as an acceptable spend on a £400 monitor to get it to look right!

It isn't needed to get acceptable quality from this monitor - however for those that are trying to make a compromise between really wanting an IPS or such and having gaming needs then this monitor certainly can benefit from such (unlike many TNs which will always look very meh no matter how calibrated).

Unless you need bang on accuracy a few simple generic tweaks will vastly improve the image quality from the out the box settings and are documented in the main thread for this monitor here.

You're partly right - on larger displays (27 inches for example), if you're close to them, the edges of the display will look a different colour to the centre, because it is at an angle. For example:

27 inch display, sat 50 cm away from it - at the edges of the display, there'll be approx 30 degree angle between you and the pixels. That's more than enough to experience a shift in colour, which implies that even with a white background you could experience colour shift viewing straight on.
