i think theres a bad batch of s3/ds3

i need to rma my s3

however if the latest batch is bad, will ocuk send me a replacement that is also bad ?

if so ill have to get another motherboard, but nothing seems to be as good as an s3/ds3 for overclocking for under £100 therefore im a bit stumped what to do ?

ideas please!

Well, I think it's a bit of a stretch to say that this is a bad batch of boards. After all, most other people have DS3's and yours is an S3 which, although it differs only in a few electrical components, would not have been built in the same batch as DS3's. It is possible that some shared component could be faulty between batches of systems, but I suspect that yours, like several others has just been cooked through the use of a non-standard fan that gives inadequate chipset cooling although it does a great job of cooling the CPU.

But I thought you couldn't RMA yours as you had damaged the CMOS battery holder?

im rma'ing it to see if thats whats wrong with it, then buying another.

no point in spending 100 quid if the heatsinks on wrong or something daft like that.

Erm, you can't actually RMA something unless you know there is actually something wrong with it, what happened?
