S7 Edge case adhesive

How would I go about resealing the back of the S7 Edge phone, I noticed today there is a gap between back cover and phone and when I look the adhesive looks like its been drying up, it presses down very easily but just won't stick.

I would investigate to see if it may perhaps be a battery thing but then I doubt the case would go back down so easily but if I do then I am still left with having to glue down the back of the case, this is why I hate this stupid non user replaceable covers and backs you could just whip on and off effortlessly with it clicking into place.

If anybody has done a battery replacement or anything thenselves what kind of adhesive should I be looking at getting?

Edit
The phone has been in use for 9 years this year and on original battery at ~38% capacity.

I haven't looked into the specifics for the S7 Edge, but I'd guess you have a spicy pillow in your phone that needs replacing.

If you want to keep using the phone, replace the battery and you can normally buy precut adhesion for the back cover.
I don't think so, doesn't appear to be any bulging and not really any resistance when I try to close the gap, I was thinking about replacing the battery but was always concerned about getting the back cover off but since its coming off anyway id still need to know best way to seal it if I did change the battery as well.

Tried to get some decent shots but it just looks very dried up and given its age and its fallen a few times I reckon the adhesive just needs replacing, I can get a battery from one of two places but not sure if the adhesive packs I have spotted are any good or whether I should use something else, this will be the first time ive ever had to do something like this so wanted to be extra cautious.

Edit
oops forgot pictures link LOL, I had to pry the gap apart a bit to get the pictures, its an album.

Save a few pounds but carry on using a sub par and poor phone and all the frustrations that come with it... Sure it's cheaper to fix it but still a dumb decision.
Still works absolutely fine and when I have a total call time in the nearly 9 years I have had it of 25 hours and 14 seconds (7h 4m 10s outgoing, 17h 56m 04s incoming) why waste the money if I don't have to.

Only thing is the battery capacity is down to 38% but if I am going to open the back I can swap the battery out as well.

I was contemplating getting the S25 Ultra providing it doesn't have the same screen issues I kept hearing about with the S24 but the S7 would be a nice backup phone still.

Currently I am using S7 Edge but have Note II as backup phone.

I went from 2 nokias (I know one was an N95) to a Galaxy S2, Note II and then to S7 Edge and I still have the S2 and Note 2 and they are in damn fine condition if I do say so myself.

Take off the back cover can use hair dryer to make it easier and use something like bank card to slowly lift it all off Get some 99% IPA clean all the adhesive from cover and phone , I found dipping cotton bud in IPA helps a lot

You can buy pre cut adhesive made for S7 edge but I would recommend something like T8000 glue once applied close case and have something weighted on top over night
appreciate the tip, wonder if rubber bands would do the trick, lots of rubber bands :D

Check the battery before your seal it back up btw, one of the culprits for this generation of Samsung phones back coming off was expanding or swelling batteries. Its well documented and happened to my S7+.
I'd pull the back off totally first as its now partially off anyway to check and if it is stop charging it straight away and look to either get a new battery or maybe retire the handset altogether.

yeah I am going to do that, if I have to take the whole thing off to apply the adhesive pack as it looks like it goes all the way around I may as well get a battery, was looking tonight for one from a not to dodgy looking seller lol

I am going to buy two of these because the chances I screw up the first is probably high lol
