s939 dual core prices?

hi all, when conroe comes out would the price of 939 dual core cpus drop? was hoping to retire my opteron to a dual core cpu if the prices get real cheapo.

Well Intel looks to be coming in at an aggressive price point, so hopefully we'll see AMD follow suit, both of their share prices are down with the talk of a price war.

Ummm why? A 2.9Ghz single core chip will beat the hell out of a dual core chip at pretty much every game out there. If you want FPS improvements, then an upgraded GPU is the way forward...

2.9Ghz single core vs 2.9ghz dual core on the cheap? I know which I'd have ;)

I can understand Cyber-Mav wanting dual core, I really fancy one but haven't got the £s right now.
 
Stock prices for both companies have slumped, and moreso for AMD; although AMD is still 10cents better than intel. This can only mean that AMD has to follow suit and there is a price war coming.

I did notice the thing I liked about AMD in the first place (reasonable pricing) has gone out the window as of late.
