Hi all, And thanks for reading my post.

So a bit of history, I have had experience with a wide range of cameras over the past years. Ranging from my old D40 to my current compact S95. I also worked on the Barrier Reef as underwater photographer for 2 years and had the pleasure to use a selection of different cameras but worked with the D7000 the most.

I would say my knowledge and understanding of cameras is good, but still lots to learn. I would say my knowledge is lacking when it comes to Lenses. I used a macro and wide angle fish eye on the D7000 for underwater shots.

OK so enough with my life story....what will I be using the camera for.

Mostly interior shots of business and custom installs. Technical equipment, home cinema and custom audio installations. And I will also be using it for video, but I imagine most DSLR's now would provide decent enough video. I could be wrong.

What I am after is your recommendations on what body to get and what lenses you feel will give me the best options for my needs. Also, Do I need to get a DSLR as I have seen some of the new compact cameras seem to be pretty decent. You can give you opinions if you desire.

I am now living in the US so prices seem to be a bit more reasonable here than back in the home land!.

I dont need the best of the best. Just something that will give me decent results at a decent price, whats a decent price. I am not sure yet until I see the options.

If you have any further questions please feel free to ask.

Also if you fancy checking out some of my underwater shots they can be found on my site here. www.adamdsenior.com

Thanks in Advance.

We use a Canon 60D for video due to the flippy flappy screen. The downside is it's a crop sensor but together with a Sigma 10-20mm it'll probably come in around $1000 in the US.

Indoor wide angles the D600 is probably a good choice with the appropriate lens but, obviously it all depends on budget?

There are some higher end compacts that would probably do the job like the Sony rx100 though its not the widest at 28mm equivalent, but image wise it shines.

I would think you could spend £150 - £2000 (converted to dollars minus tax).
