Quick summary rebuild of pc with used parts

Sabertooth p67 with 3570k
corsair vengeance 1600 (was in my old build and was working)

Ive seen this problem on the net a few times, when booting the mem ok light comes on. either showing compatability issues or incorrect fitting. this happens with any of the four ram sticks in any of the four slots or any combination of 4-3-2-1 etc.
Ive used the memok button which does its little tests with the same of any sticks in any slots and still no boot. nothing on screen at all.

seems i have incompatible ram but my wonder is this.
The 3570k requires latest bios to even boot - i have no way of knowing if it is bios causing the issue -
The cpu problem light is not glowing so i think its safe to say i need new ram?! but dont want to go out and buy any if it wont solve the issue

You made a typo? Not a z77 sabertooth?

P67 is indeed a motherboard - http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/SABERTOOTH_P67/

Have you confirmed that RAM is on the QVL?
What about testing in single channel or 2 stick at a time?
A BIOS update would be a good idea if you've not already done it, but I dont see this changing the compatibility of the RAM. If you have the RAM serial number, you can search the QVL PDF using that.

I've tried all combinations of ram from 1stick to 4...the two potential issues are 1the ram just isn't compatible. So I need to buy more. The other is the cpu is only compatible with the newer bios, now I presume the newer bios is on as the cpu light is not lightingI could buy more ram but a I can't find any compatible in Sheffield and two if it is a cpu thing then it's a waste of time n money

have you reset the bios? If they are used parts then it could easily be that the previous owner has set up timings in the BIOS that dont match your RAM.

I would start by finding someone who has a cheap 1155 chip so you can update the BIOS. Then find some cheap 1333 RAM and test it.

You could also test the modules in another PC just to confirm. You may have to sell and re-buy!

local but only cheap parts pc shop said i could drop in when the main guy is there (one week away ) take the system and buy the ram if he gets any in that works...thats one option but a slow one

Im pretty sure its the ram,the light says its the ram and the website and book both point to loads of ram pretty much all above 1.5v mine is 1.35v they seem to have most of the crucial range but none at 1.35v.......im guessing i have the new bios so i just need the right ram

Suggest you get a cheap ram stick from the famous auction site or sheffield forum (yes i used to live there). Test it and see if its the board or ram.

Did you build it yourself?

Personally im using a 1600 ddr3 ram leftover from my last build which two intel generations ago. Still working well on my latest 1150 build, of course next on my list of upgrades

Borrowing a ddr3 tonight, think it's a generic make... So if it doesn't work I'm in the same position.... If it does then what the hell do I buy? Can't find ones off the list... But loads of people use varying rams with this mobo. I've looked at all the numbers... And on the list there are basically no groups of four rams. So my 4x2gb at 1.35 is far from anything on the list. I think and hope it's just not right and not a mobo or copy issue

My Z77 sabertooth had similar problems with my Samsung Green memory. It ran fine with just two sticks in but failed the startup test with all four. In the end a bios update fixed.

Hoping the ram tonight will work then I can update. It shouldn't need a update as the cpu shouldn't work without latest update. So if it doesn't work I need to consider a older cpu to get it working. Too many variables

STILL NOTHING WITH FRIENDS RAM,
trying to hopefully send it back as faulty.......if i do then its find a new decent board

if i cant then i have no idea what ill do
