Hi guys i need some help :(

I bought an Asus xonar D2X from MM,fitted it every thing lights up (light sockets) but Pc is not picking it up.

So i went Ocuk an bought an xonar DGX an im getting the same results as i did with the D2X :(

When trying to install the drivers for the D2X i get the error/message "unable to continue no D2X connected".

Mother board in sig, any ideas?

Yeah that's what im thinking as well Oracle the prob i've got with that is i don't know what im looking for :\

Never had to change any thing like that before :(

Do you know how to enter your BIOS?
If so, can you see anything about the device there, or any info regarding PCI - is anything set to off/disabled?

Just checked it had PCI-e set to X4, its turned my Pci-e lanes 1,2 an 3 off using X4.

Now on X1 giving all lanes access :D

Fingers crossed it sorts the problem :)

tried all 3 of pcie x1 x2 x3 pc dont even pick the cards up tried both.

Either the sockets are dud or there's some thing ive missed in bios, ive done a recheck an there still set to X1( all lanes enabled)

I run my sound card in the bottom x16 sized slot. It has x4 lanes from the z77 chipset (shared with the x1 slots). I disabled the x1s with the option you found above.

Make sure you have all the relevant chipset drivers.

what slot are you using for the sound card. running sli will use the bandwidth from one some of the other slots

have you downloaded the drivers. some card are not picked up and auto installed. go to the supplier site and download the drivers.

install the drivers then co to device manager and turn off all over sound option system and gfx cards.

Running single now glad you pointed that out :D

Well problem solved haven't a clue what caused the problem or fixed the problem, i was helping a friend with his pc,talking him through how to get to system devices.
Once i got to SD i open cpuz an soon as it opened i got the yellow icon in system device for "multimedia audio controller".

Haven't got a clue what caused it.
