It's so sad when loved ones get struck with cancer... Don't be sad, remember all the good times you had and most importantly remember, Snowy would've been in unbelievable amounts of agony with cancer.. you did the best thing, a peaceful end to the pain.

Been through the exact same experience before, it's heartbreaking and this was quite a few years ago now, but I had grown up from Day 1 with our Chocolate Labrador and when she had to be put down I was probably the most effected person in our household. :(

We put down all our animals in our house that are very ill and otherwise will die from 'natural causes'... animals cant express pain like humans can, they moan, whine and 'cry' in their own way.. but putting an end to the pain can be the last ounce of love you can provide them with... and it's for the best.

Aahh, a Westie too how cute!
Had a couple of Westies myself, cute but yappy.

Bad luck mate, but it's the burden we take on when we take a pet. You know the day is going to come. The worst for me was my last cat (HRH Fish the Second). A stocky, bald bloke with a goaty beard stood at the vets in floods of tears with a dead cat in his arms after she was put to sleep just doesn't look right does it.
The healer for me was... HRH Fish the Third! The third cat of the lineage.
LONG LIVE THE FISH
