Saddened to have just heard Sir Christopher Meyer has died.

One of our more charismatic civil servants, endowed with a robust sense of humour and unafraid to give his personal opinion on a plethora of subjects with knowledge and good grace. I hope old "redsocks" entertains those in the next life with continuing aplomb and diplomacy. An ambassador of great distinction.

I was surprised there wasn't much mention on the news. I know GB News commented about it. Arlene Foster was on the air when the news came in.

He was able to articulate views and express his opinion. Something rarely seen these days.
