I know about finding sit bone size, is there anything else into choosing a saddle.

And there's a million and one pedals out there, what's good and grippy fir skater style shoes? Last time I rode it was shark bite pedals and well my shins are still an artistic version of the Himalayas with the missing chunks.

Got this, feel like it was a bit if a bargin £175 absolutely immaculate condition. Other than no pedals, two new tyres forget which ones, but high end apparently.

What sort of pedals do you want? Super star nanos, nuke proof electrons and shimano saints are all quite well regarded if you want flats, and are reasonable money.

Lots of people like Enties skate shoes but I find that style of shoe too floppy, but the flat soles do grip well.. Personally I prefer to pick up cheap regatta or karrimor type walking shoes, I prefer the more sturdy soles at the cost of a little grip due to the chunky deeper tread but they also offer more support and are more water resistant than skate shoes ... Personal preference really.

Not many people use 'bear trap' pedals any more, normaly thinner platforms with adjustable grub screws to provide grip.

I'd read up into fitting too if you haven't already.

Saddles should be level - that one is aiming at the floor.

Also, generally with saddles you'll want something firmer rather softer so don't be tempted by all the ridiculous gel padded saddles and the like. Get a decent firm saddle and a good pair of padded shorts. Also, don't wear underwear  with the shorts.

I found this video explains set up well https://youtu.be/oxNznrlRXGU

But as above.. Saddles are generally level.. But after you've set seat post hight and saddle fore /aft correctly you may want a slight (and I mean slight) toe up or toe down on the saddle. But level is the default.

With bike fit, you generally start at the feet and hips, then reach, and then a final tweak of, say saddle angle and handlebar rotation.

You have 3 contact points that need to be set firstly, feet, aris, and hands.

Just to add you may see a lot of bikes around with very low, tilted backwards saddles, these people are either redbull rampage downhill champions, or more often than not, just berks who don't have a clue. They are normaly riding a £90 argos bike with full suspension.

Thanks for video, will watch tonight, ended up just getting some flat mtb style pedals just to get it on the road, might change them down the line depending how I get on with them.
