Safari keeps telling me I'm spelling colour and favourite wrong, I assume cos it thinks it's American. The country settings seem fine in OS X. Am I missing something obvious somewhere?

Cheers

Try being a mod on phpbb3, edit button is where quote should be, and delete it next to edit!

I've been toying with the dictionary for ages. The spelling menu was always greyed-out for me too. Didn't realise you had to have a word highlighted before you could get into the menu. <sigh>

Thanks for the solution though guys.

If you are using Safari then you don't have to highlight the word, all you have to do is right click on the word and click "Look Up in Dictionary" as Safari highlights it for you :)

As for the British spelling, to correct this, go to System Preferences then International. From here, click Edit List and tick British English which should now be on the top of the list. The British spelling now should be correct :)

Mine was already set like that. It was like the Safari setting was independent.
