Hi.

I've been trialing Apple's Safari browser for the past few days alongside Firefox and Opera.

I quite like Apple's offering, however I have hit upon one problem, a major one for me, and was wondering if anyone else had suffered a similar problem whilst using the browser.

When I try to logon to my internet banking (Yorkshire Bank), after entering my first set of details, the page fails to load and I receive the following error in the top right of the window.... "Error 500: Missing message for key "css.win.safari.version".

I did a quick google with no success. It would be great to find a fix for this, although I appreciate the windows version of the browser is still in beta.

Anyway, I appreciate any advice.

Not the only site that can't cope with Safari3. They've made some changes which affect how sites work and it's not something you can do anything about - you have to wait for the website to be "fixed". You could try e-mailing the webmaster there and letting them know but you're likely to be told that they don't support beta browsers.

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the reply.

Does that mean when Safari comes out of Beta then it will most likely work, or will it be site dependent with the web designers designing with blinkers on and refusing to support Safari?

More importantly why would anyone want to use Safari for Windows, it may be ok on the Mac but for Windows it is horrendous, it leaks memory like nothern rock leak money and it has quite a few unpatched secruity holes

you could try asking in the mac forum if anybody can use that site with safari?

The site I help look after needed recoding to work properly with safari3 on Leopard. They might change it back but at the moment we needed an extra widget to allow the javascript to work properly.
