After using Opera for the last month or so I have had a play around with Safari. I'm actually quite liking it and am coming around to the way of thinking that I prefer it to Opera.

I was wondering if anyone else here used it on a Windows PC and if so have you got any tips, tricks or links to point me towards in order to get the most out of it. Really liking the "Top Sites" GUI although after getting used to Opera I'm finding Safari a bit of a fiddle to find my way around. :)

And fast!!!. I thought Opera was quick, this seems even more so.

I tried it for a few days when it first came out and it was okay but I prefer IE8 on Windows.

I have a MacBook Pro too but ironically I use Firefox on that as adblock is great for blocking annoying Flash ads that peg the CPU!

I do like Safari and it's a decent browser on Windows but for me there is too much competition on the platform and I can't see it breaking into the top 3.

If you haven't already, try Chrome if you're looking into alternative browsers.

I can't see that Safari offers anything which Chrome doesn't. It's like Chrome but with a similar but inferior interface, similar but inferior performance and similar but inferior extensibility. If you like Safari's simplicity then you'd surely be better off with Chrome.

Will give Chrome a bash. I ( foolishly perhaps ) for years have stuck with IE. Only just got around to seeing what else is out there.

So far Safari is still my favorite. I haven't tried IE 8.0. Having fun playing around with them all though!.

Will d/l Chrome just now and give it a whirl too. :D

chrome is amazing, i have been a long time firefox/opera user. chrome took a little getting used to, but now im used to it i havent used anything since. also, it loads up instantly even for the first time after windows boots. and web pages are fast too. love the incognito mode it offers as well. i know other browsers do that feature, never really used it til now.

Does anyone know if there is a way to get links in Safari 4 that are clicked upon to open in a new tab everytime?. I Googled this and there is a way to do it on Mac OSX but it would appear there isn't much info on how to achieve this under Windows?. I know you can CTRL+Click to do it but having a link open in a new tab automatically would be pretty useful.
