I've been having problems with pop-ups every time I click a link on IMDB, but Safari pop-up blocker is enabled. Does it have some sort of list where I can say always/never allow pop-ups for a certain site? I'm sure Firefox has one, but I prefer to use Safari on my mac.

Thanks,

Siobhan

According to the Apple help article

Blocking pop-up windows

Some webpages display pop-up windows when you open or close the page. For example, a webpage might use a pop-up window to request login information from you or display advertising. You can block these pop-up windows.

Blocking pop-up windows stops only pop-up windows that open when you open or close a page. It does not block pop-up windows that open when you click a link.

It looks like it's on or off.. there isn't a trusted list as far as I can see.

If you like Safari it might be worth checking out Camino..

Camino

The Camino browser includes a pop-up blocker that by default blocks all (unrequested) pop-ups, and therefore may block links to JustCite and to Help and PDF files in separate windows. To allow pop-ups for JustCite and Justis:

  • 1. Select the “Camino” menu
  • 2. Select “Preferences…”
  • 3. Select “Web Features”
  • 4. Make sure that “Block pop-up windows” is seleted
  • 5. Click “Edit Pop-up Exceptions List…”
