I got my E6300 @ 2.8ghz stable in Orthos blend for 10 hours. I had my CPU at 1.43125 for this. Is this too much (it doesn't pass the blend with anything lower) or is it ok? Temps seem ok.
The only 'safe' vcore is the one specified by the manufacturer. Each increment higher is taking a higher risk. I would however say that your vcore is very low risk
Isn't the real issue whether or not you can cool an over-volted chip? I always thought that if the chip is running cool enough eg. with phase etc., then you can put insane voltages through them without any great deal of long-term effects.
You can still kill a cpu, even with phase, if you go too crazy with volts. Phase does give you some massive headroom though and most boards will run out of vcore before it becomes a problem.
Like obtaining clockspeeds, every cpu is different. A cpu that can run for years on 1.6v could instantly kill another cpu of the same type. Its the chance we all take. You also have to consider that intel factor in a certain amount of 'artistic interpretation' when it comes to vcore as some motherboards inherently overvolt and some undervolt.
