Safe 3700+ Voltage

Hi all,

What is generally accepted as the max safe voltage for a 3700+? I've heard upto 1.55/1.6v is perfectly fine as long as the cooling surfices. Is this true? this rig runs 24/7 100% load and I'd like it to last 2/3 years without the cpu dying. Temps are under 46 load.

I was testing 2700MHz but can't even run super pi with 1.39v so I am thinking 2700 to be stable if it will be that is might require say 1.45-1.5v.

Thanks for any replies

Thanks for your reply.

I'm running an Artic Freezer 64. I expected much better temps tbh but my case temps are high due the room temperature (case temp of 35-37c). If the CPU is idle or just doing internet stuff and msn it doesn't go above 43c and 50c is the max I've seen before the paste had bedded in it seems...now its 45/46c full load.

I am thinking my PSU is holding me back as the 12v rail can only give 17a which I've read isnt sufficient for stock A64 systems, let alone overclocked ones.

Do you know if there is a risk of my PSU blowing up if I set the vcore to more than 1.4v ? as Im sure it is the weak link as it's a generic 500w. When I get a new PSU, in a few days I will try and see what I can get to with 1.55v if the temps dont sky rocket.

Cheers,
Meaz\

Hmm ive been running my venice [email protected] with 1.6v lol, im preety sure im safe so you should be.

nice one thanks. I might try more volts later, probably not that much chance my PSU will give up, probably just won't POST or something till I reset CMOS.
