"Safe" sandybridge voltages?

Been looking around and this seems to be a topic that varys wildly from forum to forum, some reccomending not to go over 1.35, others saying anything upto 1.45 provided temps are under 80c is fine.

ATM im trying 4.8 on just over 1.4 volts, temps currently seem to top off at about 76c. Also looking at the 24/7 stability thread in the clocking section ther seems to be quite a few running similar voltages attaining similar temps.

Was there ever any official word from Intel on this?

Intels spec sheet is 1.52v VID maximum.

So, do with that what you will

Wasn't expecting that, after all the drama aboout cpu's degrading after 1.4ish volts thats abit of a suprise. Does it mention max temps?

- Do not exceed 1.35-1.38v core voltage, doing so could limit lifespan of the CPU
- Do not overclock with BCLK, again doing so could limit lifespan of the CPU

Im pretty sure those guidelines were made back in Jan when some reports of cpu's were degrading started to surface online?

Some vids ive seen online people have been using the built in clocking program that comes on most SB motherboards and that seems to throw quite a lot of volts at the cpu for around 4.2-4.3 ghz.

Running prime my temps just peaked at 80c on 1.410 volts @ 4.8, trying to back it down some.

Gonna have to settle for 4.6, anything over that just hits the 80c barrier far to fast for my liking, needing roughly 1.4275 or thereabouts to get it stable.
