Hi guys,

Sorry for the silly question....But whats a 'safe' temperature for the PWMIC reading in Smartguardian?

Just thought id ask, as im interested, and dont like the temps i have on it =/

Thanks.

Hmmm ok..Had to ask, was running a test on my gpu, and smartguarding had it at 45 degrees, but it was red.

So hey, better to be safe that sorry =D

Hmmmmmmm...I put my freezer back on today (did have a tuniq on there) And the Pwmic temp is like...idling at 42....

It used to be sooooooo much lower =/...I really dont get it?

I have a lian li v1000 case, with a kama bay at the front blowing in, a freezer 64pro on my cpu, and a yateloon at the back...Any ideas on how i can get it lower is appreciated, or should i just leave it and see how it is after gaming etc?

What board are you using Delvis?

I used to use a DFI SLi DR and the PWMIC got to 70 degrees C (full load) with a Scythe Ninja (which didn't blow over the board) however a quick change to a lapped Thermaltake Big Typhoon sorted the problem by cooling my Opteron 165 @ 2.8ghz better than the ninja whilst also blowing over the motherboard to bring PWMIC temps down to 45 degrees C under full load! Awesome!

Ah its an Asus A8n-sli premium board...

I might have to look into a BigT quite frankly...I'm just not too keen on the mounting mechanism.

Hey, sorry to revive the thread...I've sorted out the temp issues, i just moved my kama bay up one slot, and now it cools the chipset thats under that passive cooler thing. Seems to work :)

Oh and i switched the scythe fan for a yateloon, which seems better...As theres actually airflow coming from the bay now :P

Nice!!!

Good job! Yeah the Kama bays fan is quiet but if you need high airflow they're not the first choice.

Yeah, i already had a yateloon there before the kama bay...just i wanted it to look a little less 'bodged' :P

I'm just debating whether or not its worth putting the tuniq back on....see what happens.

Maybe tommorow, i've just recabled my system so i cant be bothered to do more to it!
