Hi guys,

Recently started playing BF3 and its the first game thats really maxed out my GPUs. I normally play less demanding games (COD, valve games etc).

Whilst monitoring my temps ingame the top card gets into the 70s and the bottom into mid 80s (possibly approaching 90). The fan speed is set to auto and seems to match the speed to whatever the temp is (90C = 90% speed etc).

Are these temps getting to high or am I just worrying for nothing?

What case are you using? Edit: just noticed it's the 902. Do you have room for anymore fans?

And the ASUS CUCore cards, are they aftermarket coolers or running with stock? And are they in adjacent slots?

Temps are a little high, nothing to be overly worried about as AMD cards are usually safe up to circa 105 C. However I would be looking to lower the temps by installing new case fans, if only to lower the fan speed! Must be killing your ears

The CuCores are aftermarket fans, altough I've never liked them, when they crank up they are really annoying and make quite the whiney sound. There is one slot of space between them, they are by no means jammed together.

Theres no room on the side panel for the fan that used to be there, as my CPU cooler gets in the way :( I suppose I could crank up the case fan speeds, they are all on low. But that certainly wouldnt help the noise :P

Do the coolers exhaust into the case or out the back?

If the former then it could just be a case of too much heat being dumped into the case. You could look at an aftermarket cooling solution, if only to keep the noise down :)

Hmm yeah, dust could be an issue, both in the GFX fans and the case fans. Definitely worth a check :)

As far as Im aware they exhaust out the back but i could be wrong...

Suppose it is due a bit of cleaning in there. I'll give that a go.

Are the fans totally surrounded by a shroud or are they more open?

If the former they exhaust to the rear of the case, the latter exhausts into the case itself.
