Got an X3 Athlon, unlocking will not work so overclocking it.
At stock speed and HSF cores idle about 22 and hit 56 in Prime95 (Socket sensor hits 66)

I am now overclocking to 220 FSB X 15.5 = 3.4
cores hit around 59 in Prime95 (socket sensor hits 69)

So am i on the limit temp wise? or will i be able to try and push another 10-20mhz?

Thoughts....

Cheers mate.
I am currently using the stock HSF (from a AMD PIB)
Here is a screen shot of temps/voltages whilst running Prime just now
Not sure if TMPIN0 or TMPIN1 is the Socket or the Northbridge :( either way they are hitting 70

I think the limit for my CPU is 62 or 65 so 59 on the cores is probably on the limit under stock cooling as to what i can acheieve, i reckon one more bump on the FSB might mean CMOS clearing time (which involves me having to remove my TV or GFX card to get to the jumper on the MB (in between PCI * PCI-E slots :shakes head:

Cheers :)
I am tempted to go for 230 fsb, but think a decent HS is required before going any further!
Tempted by the Corsair H50 (but another £60 i do not have lol)
