Safe to draw air over heatsink instead of blowing it over?

Hi, I've currently got a Coolermaster Hyper 212 Plus which is set up so the fan blows air over the heatsink and out the back of the case.

The issue is the fan overhangs two free RAM slots which I'm now wanting to use so I was wondering if there is any reason I can't move the fan round to the other side of the heatsink so that it pulls the air across and out the back instead?

My current setup is very similar to the photo below, so I'm just wanting to move the fan to the other side. It's an older Intel Core i5 2500K CPU which isn't overclocked nor do I play games often so never really have issues with heat in the case. Although I'm wanting more RAM as I'm setting up a Windows test lab so will have up to 5 virtual machines running at the same time which may tax the CPU a bit.

The whole push/pull argument has been raging for ages and to be honest it doesn't matter a huge amount. As long as you're using that back exhaust fan to vent the warm air there shouldn't be any problems :)

Pushing is supposed to be better than pulling, and it's what the heatsink manufacturers recommend, but I'd be surprised if there's more than a couple of degrees difference in it. You probably won't be affected from just moving the fan from push to pull.

Thanks all, glad to hear it doesn't really make a difference. Costing a small fortune to get some extra RAM (compared to what I paid 2 years ago) so glad I don't need to get a new smaller heatsink as well.
