Safe to give out Macbook Serial Number to eBay potential buyer?

Hi, I'm selling a broken Macbook Pro on eBay and the person is asking for the serial number. Is this safe?

Well this is a 7 year old broken Macbook, I think it'll be fine, thanks guys
