Safe to try various BIOS revisions?

When i first got my P5Q-Pro, it had a fairly old BIOS with it. The first thing i did after building the system was to test it all (overclocking etc) and then update the BIOS to the latest version. With the first version, i had speedstep working sucessfully.

Now i'm on the latest version and speedstep doesnt seem to be changing the voltage, just the clock speed (using CPU-Z etc to monitor voltages).

Is it worthwhile to go back a BIOS revision to see if i can get it back again, and to see if i can overclock any better? This would be ideal as the PC is on quite a bit just downloading etc. I've heard its not good to keep flashing the BIOS too much..

yes sometimes people do go back to older BIOS' as the overclock better etc etc but if it was working fine with the old one i dont see why u updated it

Just for peace of mind should i ever upgrade CPU or memory etc.
