Waiting on the mounting screws for my cooler to get here so I'm just getting as much info as I can beforehand.

What is considered a safe voltage for a 5930K overclocked to say 4.40GHZ ?

Is it anything like the "Z" platforms chips with 1.35 being the absolute limit someone should go to for ok'ish temps ?

Lo mate. I've recently built a new x99 system around 5930k and asus sabertooth. I'm using fairly easy auto overclocking using offset voltages. At idle it runs at 1200mhz at 0.85 volts and at my oc of 4.4 the voltage goes to 1.28. Rock solid and I've gone higher hz. From testing I've done I think I've got a golden chip.

From what I've read you shouldn't really need to go over 1.3 for a 4.4 overclock and anything up to 1.35 is considered safe I think but have a look around the tinternet.

Its about the same for all the 58xx/59xx chips, or it may be slightly higher, but for my 5820k ive been advised for about 1.35 max, the lower the better though!

Managed to get 4.50GHz on my 5930K at 1.30v so not an amazing clocker but it's fully stable and inline with OC3D's X99 review so I'm happy

Little Update.

As the initial overclock was just quick and dirty, I've since played around and keeping the same clock of 4.50GHz it's now running game and bench stable at 1.26v

Although I would like to dabble in adaptive voltage so when at idle it isn't running at 1.26 all the time, Research time.

damn, I'm sure my voltage is around 1.34ish for 4.45Ghz (35 ratio, 127.3 bclk), although this is uber stable.

i have my 5960x at 1.375v !! higher than most of you guys been running at those voltages since the cpu was released no issues with degrading so far...............
its cooled by 480mm radiator and temps are not an issue.
