Hi guys,

I've just connected my Safecom wireless adaptor to my PC and am having some difficulties that hopefully you maybe able to help with.

The Safecom adaptor uses the wireless tool, ZDWLan tool, on the tool it finds my wireless connection (Sully) my connection is secure yet when I connect to it it never prompts me for a WEP password? Thats irrelevent though as I can't even connect to the network full stop.

The two below pictures explain whats going on...

Step1.jpg

The above icon in the taskbar is displaying the wireless card trying to acquire an IP address.

Step2.jpg

The above icon in the taskbar is the adaptor failing to get an IP.

It alternates between the two pictures constantly but never connects. I got it connected once but god knows how...!!

I tried the adaptor on my laptop and the same problem exists. The laptop has built in wireless which I can connect to the netgear router easily.

Any ideas?

Thanks

you have your authentication set to "wpa psk" instead of wep. try change that.

edit: make sure your settings match the router's settings. in terms of what channel it is running on etc...

have you checked the network type and then channel? these will be available on the routers configuration page.

Progress...I disabled security on the router and the wirless connect straight away so there must be somewhere in the settings where I input the WEP key? But where?!

Aha, it was the other button but it was a bit weird how to input it all! Working now, crikey never new wireless was so slow in a LAN :(

Thanks for the help matey.
