safely remove device icon?

right i just noticed recently that the little green arrow near the time/date has disappeared, where one could usually go into and safely remove a usb device, how could i get that icon thingy back?

no need, after sniffing around, found the answer


running this on a command window, brings up the window to remove the device(s) then after that it should (well for me it did) bring the green arrow back!)
C:\WINDOWS\system32\rundll32.exe shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL hotplug.dll
