I'm looking to upgrade to a 32GB 3GS and will therefore have an 18 month old iphone 3G 8GB to sell.

Having heard plenty of horror stories about ebay I either want to avoid selling via them but what could I do to avoid issues with ebay?

Other option seems to be to just use a mobile recycling company as at least you know what you'll get!

Anyone offer any advice?

As long as your careful ebay isnt so bad. You get afew scalywags trying stuff but as long as you put a reserve on your item you should be ok. If you use paypal you can get your money back if they try anything. Your in a stronger position as a seller than a buyer to be honest, thats where the real horror stories are lol.

I'm an ebay powerseller so am not sure if you have this right. Paypal always sides with the buyer in my experience!!

Looks like a recycling company could be the easy option, thanks for the replies.

Would have to disagree with you there, I thought I was buying a iPhone 3G last year and got a load of get rich quick files zipped and emailed instead

Paypal paid back some of us that got scammed but not all and I argued it for days and they just said no! :(

Think selling is ok as long as the funds clear paypal and they don't reverse the payment..

Or cash on collection is best... No fee's

(Sorry don't mean to put you off, thats the worst issue I've had on the bay and still buy and sell there now) ;)
