How safe is it to use a laptop in a very humid environment like a bathroom...

Reason I ask is I want to watch a DVD in the bath :D
Laptop would be about 5 or 6 foot from the actual bath and water

Well I suppose as Long as you dont get it wet it will be ok, but then if it gets steamy in there, its not good, because it will get into the laptop and any water will short parts in the laptop, then its bye-bye nice movie :/

It wouldn't be good for it.

When it cools down, the water molecules in the air will condense.
Therefore make the inside of the laptop wet. 0_O
(Like if there are several people in a room and there isn't double glazing, the inside of the window is wet. That's due to the humid air hitting the cold surface and releasing the water contained within the air)

If you left it for a day or so to get back to room temp before turning it on again it should be OK.
But generally that's why no normal bathrooms have 13A sockets in them.
To prevent the plugging in of standard equipment!

Why in gods name would you want to watch a movie whilst in the bath.

Has to be the most stupid post I have seen this year. You should know that water and electricity don't mix, so even considering taking it in the bathroom whilst a bath runs it stupid.

Can't you pause it or something????

What kind of DVD do you want to watch then? ;)

You could encase the laptop in a see through airtight plastic bag, that'd do the trick although operating it would be difficult lol

Edit: Ah scrap that, it'd overheat if you did that.

Use a PC Monitor and leave the laptop out the door? Haha.

Generally not good for the laptop to use it in hundid conditions like that.

Oh and most other contries have socket outlets in the bathroom...they just have common sense as to what they use in the bathroom :p

Whats with people, I asked a question... quite a simple one and a simple answer would be fine and most people have done that... but you always get someone with an attitude problem
