SAINT ROWS V.S DEAD RISING

Shouldnt this be in the console section?

I only have Saints Row and it is really good so I cant really comment.
 
ive only played the demo of saints row, but i would choose dead rising, fantastic game

OR rent them both and save some cash, as there not titles that you will keep for ages
 
Two totally different games TBH.

Saints Row if you want a lot of variety and if you liked GTA series then it's a cert.

Dead Rising if you want a good challenge and like nothing more than killing things.

Outta the two for me, I'd say Saints Row (it's also multiplayer which DR doesn't have).
 
I don't mean to seem dull, but honestly, how many of these threads are we going to get over the next week or so?


My personal opinion, get both. They both equally deserve play time. If you can only afford one, get Saints Row. If you like it, you can finish the story and then all the extra stuff. Once you are bored of it, trade it for Dead Rising.

If you still haven't a clue what you want to play, download the demos.

Think what it's going to be like when there'll be several 'must-have' titles coming out some fridays.
 
I thought id prefer dead rising, but having got them both on the same day, im enjoying Saints row most of all (out of saints row, test drive, dead rising and enchanted arms (granted i havent loaded EA yet!)

Both games are great though.

Yeah I can understand why, but when there are demo's available, and have been for some time, multiple reviews on other sites and here in the games main threads... I just don't see why we need so many "should I buy..." threads.
 
Well, with Saints Row the demo and game have definitely received different opinions. Personal opinions on the final game from other people in the same position will always be welcome.
 
I have both and can say i prefer DR over SR tbh, the ingame tearing on SR is highly highly annoying..really puts me off the game...at first i never noticed it much but now i do and its bloody pathetic. Whereas DR gfx are nice but hardly any in game tearing.

But as a few have said its 2 different games, very different games. I do like SR...havent really had a chance to play DR really.
 
I had to make that exact same choice. Not at all easy. In the end, I went for Dead Rising. However, I think I might have to get Saints Row at some stage as well.
 
Got Saints Row, its a good open game for messing around in, more polished than GTA with the annoyances removed, more amusing moments and extra touches, and Im nowhere really into the game or mastering shootouts yet.
The tearing and slowdown is annoying though, you wouldnt mind if the hardware was being hammered to death, but the 360 is better than this, is there a chance they will patch it?

Tried demo of Dead Rising, got bored of killing Zombies after about 10, will have to give that one more time though.
 
luckily theres more to DR than just pointlessly bashing zombies, the missions/story mode really save it and its great exploring the mall. It can be hard and frustrating though, thanks to the irritating save function.
 
ive nearly completed the game, and ive only killed 2669 zombies, consider thats in 8 hours, whearas in the 15 min demo i killed 1000 iirc

fantastic storyline

though at the end of the day

theres demos for the both of them online
