I finally got round to buying this on offer for £14.99 in one of the High Street software retailers.
Now fully accepting the graphics are a bit pants and it does get a bit laggy, I still find myself enjoying the actually game immensely. Compared to the, at times, dour and grim experience of GTA4, SR2 is actually fun. I'm not that far into the main missions and only played a few of the side missions, but I've already been in stitches. A few stand out moments...
The character customisation at the beginning where you can be male, female or something in between...
Toxic Avenger, what other game lets you spray raw sewage around the city?
Paramedic, actually having to get out the ambulance and work on the patients.
Insurance Fraud, getting knocked 200 feet in the air on an adrenaline boost.
And my highlight so far - the blatant mickey take of the GTA SA casino mission where the cutscene mimics the planning of the Caligula heist then suddenly it's... "Nah, stuff it let's just go in through the front door and kill everyone."
The only downside is that the higher levels of some of the missions seem quite hard and I haven't managed to do the top "Escort" mission yet.
But overall very enjoyable in terms of gameplay.
