Hi,

I picked up SR2 for the PC (I know, I know, but I don't have a 3rd gen console), and whilst it runs okay *1, just wondering if there are any graphics options that are known to seriously improve performance without screwing up the looks too much.

Also, anyone get motion sickness playing this? I don't normally have an issue with that, but can't play SR2 for more than an hour or so before feeling quesy. Wondering if it's the motion blur effect?

*1 Though it certainly doesn't run as well as it should given that my machine, though in no way up to date *2, runs Fallout 3 without a hitch at a higher res.

*2 Core 2 duo @ 2.4 Ghz, 3GB DDR2 @ 800Mhz, 768 MB GTX8800

The top option ( don't know what it's called as my game is in Dutch and the translations are rubbish, I have 2 graphics options in the menu called exactly the same despite being different things...) And Dynamic lightning perhaps put on simple rather than advanced. Shadows are usually a big hit too I have em on simple too rather than advanced.

Changed all those already. :) Not sure what the top option does either - not an option I've seen in any other game, so I switched it off on that basis. Also switched draw distance to near.

Thing is, they've apparently just patched it to improve performance - I shudder to think what it was like before. Why can't companies do decent PC ports? It is possible, frex, Capcom did a great one with Devil may cry 4. (The less said about their DMC 3 attempt the better)

don't own the game myself but my friend does, i laughed at him a lot for buying it after i saw how it ran pre patch, game was damn near unplayable.

however after the patch it runs fine, he's playing 1920x1200, all settings max, 0xaa 16xaf and its 30-40 fps all the time. still looks nowhere near as good as gta4 so should run a lot better really but it does actually run ok now
