Having (finally) got round to finishing SR3 I thought I would go back and have another play through SR2. Unfortunately, I've come up against the issue of the game running too fast under Win 7 64 bit and being virtually unplayable. A bit of googling revealed the Powertool (from this site: http://saintsrowpowertools.com/ ) but before I install unknown third party software wondered if anyone who's used it can confirm it doesn't install any nasties in the background and that it is safe to use, i.e. won't get you bounced off Steam for cheating.

I've used it. It's not only worth using, it's essential. I've never heard of anyone being bounced for cheating using it (is there still much of a multiplayer scene for SR2?)

Found an easier (!) solution - put my 3.2 O/C back on (had been running at stock 3.0 since aborted rebuild in March) which according to the Steam forums is the same speed XB360 CPU runs at thus satisfying the console conversion!
