Hi guys,

So I've been given the choice of Saints Row for either my Pc or my Ps3.

Was just wondering if its a bit of a pain to control with a Keyboard and mouse? I'm used to playing these sort of things on Ps3 so I wasn't sure if there's any particular reason ( apart from graphically) I should opt for the Pc version :)

Kind Regards,

Josh

Do I need a cable or something? just bought super meat boy and heard it was a pain with mouse and keyboard and I've got both xbox and ps3 controllers.

Wireless pad needs a wireless adapter, and the wired is just plug and play.

thing is, an Xbox controller is the best part of £20 no ?

Personally, given the number of games that support it and play better, I'd say an Xbox pad is a near essential bit of PC gaming kit. ;)

I played Saints 3 on PC without a pad, and it worked about as well as GTA IV did (Which is to say, really well) but some people hate that type of game with anything other than a pad, so if you are one of those I suggest using one.

Myself I bought a PC 360 pad years ago for the £20 and it's one of the best buys I ever made because almost every game now can use it, and especially good when games are clearly made with consoles in mind. Well worth the money simply as an investment for the future.

PC by a mile. It plays fine with mouse and keys or a pad, I've used both. I was switching between mouse and pad(mouse on foot, pad in vehicles) but ended up just going with the pad for it all.

Then there is the modding to consider, simple things like an increased field of vision mod would be enough to sway me.

Personally, given the number of games that support it and play better, I'd say an Xbox pad is a near essential bit of PC gaming kit. ;)

This. It should be in your build budget. Pads, sticks and wheels have always had a place in PC gaming.

Id say PC but others may prefer console.
As said, try a 360 controller on the PC, works great, I use a pad for flying jets in BF3.

Also, you may want to dabble with custom mods for the game in the future, this can only be done with the PC version. That excludes official DLC thats released for the game on pc and console.

I use my PS3 controller on my PC, just hit it up with some 360 pad emulation and it runs a dream "natively".

Anyone with a similar rig to mine have any performance issues?
AMD 955BE
4GB RAM 1333MHz
HD5850 xtreme
1080p.

Also you can get an xbox controller for as little as £13 brand new.

The framerates on console are some of the worst I have seen in any game, When driving they are around 15 and flying it must drop into single figures, it's a smooth 60fps on a decent PC, Hooked up to a 1080p TV with a wireless 360 controller it is perfect

Why would you need ANY community for the console version? There's no competitive multiplayer, no mod scene. At least there are people modding and improving on what was already a great game IF you get the pc version.

Coop, once you finish Single player game is kind of done isn't it? You've collected all items and done all Play through choices, but cant do any fun coop or even that whored mode as online/community is pretty much dead. Though as for mods ive never seen this!
