Hi guys.
Does any one own a Saitek Cyborg, and is it any good?
Im asking because i like its looks and im after a keyboard with a green back light.
Or, does any one know of a keyboard with adjustable lights that include green and purple/pink?

also looking for a mouse with green lights but with atleast 3 buttons and a scroll. I know razer do a few but ive heard a lot about them developing a double clicking problem and that the rubberyness can be a bit too grippy.
Any help would be great :-)

Thanks.

That's not a keyboard it's a piece of Star TreK scenery that's been swiped off the Enterpise bridge. ;)

Are you making your whole rig pink and green, despotofmidnor? If you are, you're going to have to post some pics when it's all done. It should look pretty impressive in a dimly lit room - with the pc and all its inputs and peripherals all lit up.

Yup, thats the plan.
Because the HAF case is mat black with varnished HAF on it im going to make some stenicils for the sides and spray them with varnish.
Going for that whole alien look (search invader zim, thats the whole vibe i want)

Failing my ability to find any pink/purple lighting and periferals im going for the startrek Nemesis look of green and black. :-D

This little guy?:

I like the idea - it's quirky and pretty unique as a design for a pc. Are you an art student or just artistic?

I definitley want to see the finished result - it's not your run of the mill mod/look, it sounds and will probably look very funky.

Well i am an art student but the ideais to make it like his spaceship/house.
Gona have like alien txt/icon on the case but i wana use the 'Irkin' logo big on the side over the lighting panel and im removing the 'coolermaster' logo off the front and im going to machine a new logo out of metal to go over it.
Atsome point i will pull it all apart and get the inside painted black and or green, not sure yet, will have to see what path it takes :-D

Thats the logo (in sum horid colours) but it would be black with green back light coming around it.
Im gona get sum good photos of it now anyway and post em at sum point. Proud of my 1st build and the pics in my origionaly thred were on a nasty camra phone.

Thanks :-)
But, to the matter at hand gentlemen. This keyboard? Any one own it? and anyone got a good mouse suggestion. The budget on the mouse is about £35 prob, or just over and i wil 'online auction house that shalt not be named' it for cheap.

It sound like a great idea - very interested to see the finsihed article.

I haven't seen any invader zim - but i was a big ren and stimpy fan and loved the artwork in those cartoons. You should have a pretty quirky and original setup once your finished.

Good luck with it.

Thanks halliwelldj, thats the thing i was worried about, typing on it. My current gaming keyboard is nasty for typing and as a student, a ma'hooosive essay aint gona be fun on a crap keyboard.
Plec, i wil prob get sum good pics up 2moro at sum point :-)
Im going to do the 'converting' durring the holidays :-)

Np, I really like it, the keys don't stick at all and are very easy to tap down if that makes any sense , I can't even think of anything that's wrong with it..trying pretty hard to find a fault and I can't.

Thanks :-)

Regarding the mouse, G9 and if you can't get that for the budget mx518
That keyboard looks totally awesome. I'm going to get one.

Thanks.
The keyboard shalt be mine then.
Any one back up or deny the clicking problems with razor mice?
Two mice i do like the look of, but not green :-( , are the sidewinder mouse and the cyborg mouse. The cyborg one would go with the keybord but mainly lots of mice seam to big for my hand and the cyborg can change size. But to how small it goes i dont know.

Which razer mouse were you looking at? The Razer Copperhead Chaos Green and the Razer Diamondback 3G Earth Green suit your needs very well the price you wanted and colour. I don't really hear a lot of things about the Razer mice with clicking problems all I read about is how good they are. I have the Roccat mouse and have had it ever since it came out a lot of them early on broke because of their mouse wheel and people seem to not suggest this mouse ever since but I've had no trouble with it and it's easily the best mouse I have ever owned, it's so smooth and comfy in your hand.

Oh and I've read lately that they have fixed the mouse problems with the scroll wheel in their recent batch of this mouse, plus it's gone a lot cheaper.

Been using the same Razer mouse here for about 4 years now, still as good as the first day i used it! Maybe i've been lucky, maybe not. Been using it for some intensive gaming in the past too

my crappy G11 randomly died today and i want to move away from logitech I love the look of this keyboard so going for it :)

Um sorry i didnt see this until now. but i'll post away anyways.

Firstly I should maybe say in advance, that im not saying all of these models are bad....but mine certainly was, perhaps it was just a faulty one.

I owned the Saitek cyborg for about 3 weeks, well i still do own it, its right beside me now in a draw.

The keys, I dont think they feel smooth at all. They are big and chunky and feel kinda cheap if you know what i mean. No real feeling when you press a key, it just kinda clunks. And that big space bar made out of some dodgey metal :O oh its awful, sounds nasty, feels nasty, and again it looks cheap when you see it for real.

But my worst problems were the keys stopped working lol. First the number 7 stopped working, then the right arrow key stopped working (which i never even touch), then the shift key stopped working. And no im really not a button masher, not at all.

Good points were the lights were kinda cool, the 12 macro keys were great, and I thought the board looked kinda cool too. But apart from that I was very disapointed to be honest.

I replaced it with this Logitech G15 and it is a million times better in every way. The keys are much smoother, they feel nice to push, and most importantly, the keys work perfectly still.

Only thing i liked better on the Saitek was the 12 macro keys, where as the g15 only has 6; but thats nothing really.

As I type now, I have both boards infront of me, and just pressing the keys on both of them you can tell which is the better quality instantly.

My advice: pay the little extra for the g15.....but yeah, maybe I just had a bad board so I not trying to say they are all as bad as mine was.

And as for a mouse, the Logitech G9 is great
