Saitek usb keyboard issue

I have just sacked my Saitek keyboard. I believe that it is responsible for my recent system instability. It’s an Eclipse I, USB version. My system would just BSoD and then report a USB device as the problem. Windows Vista then refused to boot up in anything other than safe mode. The keyboard would then not work properly, and would act as if the left control button was constantly depressed. Most of The keys would not work. Those that did would act as if they too were depressed constantly. I am able to enter bios on boot by pressing del key, once inside none of The keys work. I have replaced it with an 8 year old beige ps2 keyboard and things appear to be ok. I tried the Saitek on my laptop which then powers down into sleep mode if it is plugged in for more than 30 sec. Has anyone experienced anything similar? Could it be a USB issue? I don’t want to buy a Saitek III and have the same problem.
