Saitek X-55 rhino mode select problem

As the topic suggests, i think i'm having a problem with my mode selector switch.

If anyone has seen or has one of of these HOTAS joysticks, they will be aware that it has a mode selector switch on the throttle base. As far as i am led to believe, these mode selects are supposed to work on both the throttle and the joystick.

The problem i am having is that the mode selector switch works flawlessly on the throttle buttons, allowing me to map different functions to the buttons while using different modes. However, the joystick just won't play. The mode selector switch doesn;t make any difference to what i have mapped to the buttons on the joystick. I would like one of the buttons to do a different thing on my joystick in the different modes, but no matter what i do, i can't get the buttons to change out of mode 1.

So for example:
mode 1 joystick trigger : space
mode 2 joystick trigger : c
mode 3 joystick trigger : a

When i change the mode from 1 to either of the other 2 it keeps pressing space. This happens on all of the buttons on the joystick, but works perfectly on the throttle buttons.

Does anyone have any ideas of a fix or is this a known problem?

Sorted it guys,

Just incase you'd like to know, i contacted Madcatz who then sent me some software to "Sync" the two devices. It's now working as it should.
