Salem's Lot 2024 (Max)

Probably my favourite king novel and the '79 mini series is a guilty pleasure so it's got a lot to live up to for me :p Trailer looks decent enough, here's hoping its good!

I gotta be honest I have never watched the original nor read the book. So looking forward to seeing what all hype is about. It's meant to one of Stephen King's best book right?

Watched the original and I quite enjoyed it. As mentioned it was showing it time but still worth it if like me, you haven't watched it before. That's when vampires where actually frightening and looked dangerous.

Its got some cracking actors Rutger Hauer/Donald Sutherland/Andre Braugher, it just lacks that something if you know what i mean, overall its 'ok'. I wouldnt hunt it down to watch it but if I noticed it was going to be on I would make sure to (if that makes sense)

Watched it yesterday and i agree. Its not amazing not the worst but still enjoyed it. Still thought the original did it quite a bit better with the atmosphere and effects despite the new one being more elaborate with the story.

Caught up with it and agree with @ivrytwr3 they definitely diluted the story a little too much, in some parts they did well to bring modern rendition into the story but in others was a backward step to the original. Some of decisions was dubious and didnt make sense which showed weakness in the writing. It was very rushed but can understand the originals and remake was about 3 hours long. This was average and a little disappointing as i was hoping they would improve upon the original.

Bit silly how Mark Petrie became a Ghost Vampire Terminator and could tackle anyone. The Straker scene was underwhelming! Also the decisions to be safe in the outdoor movie theatre instead the Marsden house???

@ivrytwr3 you will love midnight mass.
