If I take it back is the seller allowed to send it off for repair?

They're allowed to; they're allowed to paint themselves blue and say whibble, this does not nessesarily mean they will.

are they legally entitled to send it off for repair rather than refund it?
the DTI website doesnt seem to mention much, but I recall reading something about them bieng allowed to repair it rather than refund.
