Salford University

Do you like Asians? :D

Cheetham Hill is dog and not very close to the Uni :p

I've been in and out of Salford all of my life, go uni there atm. The Uni's great, although our SU bar got shut so um, no SU :p

Don't walk through Peel Park when its dark :p

You seen that big CIS building? on Miller St/Dantzic St, I am literally there, is that close to the uni?

My rent is £94 a week :(

Your right next to Victoria Station then. About 20-30 minute walk to Peel Campus.

Get the train from Vic to Salford Cres (Uni campus) Takes like 4 minutes.

Nope xD

The iQ on Seaford is still bang tush though. About £100 a week.

Brammall just got bought by CLV (sigh) so thats getting renovated.

Jesus £100 a week, thats pretty expensive, paid something in the region of £45-£55 a week for my room on Irwell whilst I was there!

And whoever said they are bang next to the CIS building thats pretty much city centre not Cheetham Hill isn't it? Not as far away as I first thought, but still a bit of a walk. Should have stayed at Castle Irwell ;)

Well I'd like to cycle tbh, but I am worried there is no where to park my bike, it's a road bike and I don't want it getting stolen.

Ye, Irwell is about £67 nowadays.... Cheapest one available and easily the best if you wanna be a part of 'uni life'.

But with the Pav shut I might hop to Brammall :D

I take it 'Yours' bar is still open isn't it? Has to be really or Salford has sod all left as far as an SU bar goes!

Yeh, I loved Irwell, it was cheap, over 1500 students in one place, Pav on your door stop, what more do you want?! Awesome times, really wish I could go back to Uni :(

Jeezo, you should probably take a trip to the Campus pal :p

Plenty of places to put your bike :)

No

Brammall
Mathias
John Lester
Eddie Coleman
COnstantine
Horlock

iQ
Castle Irwell

Bold ones are the last ones left to be owned by the Uni :(

Couple of new one's on that list, but most are the same. I guess Rose Hill and Churchill got sold off to a private landlord.

Horlock was the dogs danglies when I was there... and you paid for it. Full of Greeks with rich daddies.

Ye Yours bar is still here. It's really good to be fair, Colin Manford runs the Comedy Club there so always something on.

Most are crap cause of private ownership, rules and regs all that horse.

Horlock and Constantine is for the rich kids not gonna lie :D

Secure tho? At The Manchester College they had fences around the bike park and had a special key fob to get in.

I might cycle down to Manchester sometime but it seems a waste of 10 hours just to have a look at the campus :p

I went to the Openshaw campus, I kept getting chavs from the 6th form coming asking me to sell them my bike.

I guess I need to think about insurance, the bike is worth like £300 so I canny not afford to loose it.

2008-2010.

Would you say that campus is worse than Salford Uni?

Those 2 years went so fast, did bugger all, never settle in the first year but I can't wait to get back to Mcr, if I'm doing well in my course and find I can manage a job, then get one, I'll not want to leave Manchester, I know so many more people in Manchester and I prefer it for cycling.

I did FDSc Computer Systems Support, dunno if you know any of my tutors, Paul Ashby, Anthony Roberts West and Ainsly Smith.

Felt abit like a cowboy college, sometimes we where told we could do things that where essentially cheating, and the some of the tutors never seemed to give a crap. The course was rather easy, easier than my previous National Diploma (IT Practitioners General) at York College where I just got PPM, so pass overall. At TMC I got a Merit overall. I got myself worked up allot to get try do good and get stuff in time, but I should never have, all that stress over nothing.

Nah never came across them lot.

Yea bad choice picking Openshaw i understand exactly what your saying :D

You'll be reet at Salford.

Hopefully will be, I'm hoping I am expecting Uni work (and standards) to be a lot harder/higher than it actually is at BSc level.
