Hey all,

I have a pair of the Salomon X Ultra 3 Mid GTX's below:

The laces have completely worn in them now - The material around the lace itself has come apart and they're really tricky to tie up now.

I've been looking for new laces over the net but can only find the Quicklace Kit, which is for the other boots that Salomon do.

Any ideas where I can get some replacement laces for these bad boys?

Many thanks,
Marky

Visit your nearest outdoor shop and buy some new laces? There's nothing special about the laces in my Salomon boots.

Mine are definitely different to any laces I've ever had before - It's like a lace within a lace :p

Was hoping to find somewhere online to get them if possible.

Give Salomon a ring 020 7078 3528 and ask them?

I could, but I know there are people on here that have the answer :)

They're just laces. Nothing special.

My Solomans have done a hell of a lot of work, but the laces lasted about 6 months. The conventional replacement ones that cost me about £3 for two sets have been on for 2 years now.

The boots are wearing now after 1000s of miles so I have bought an identical pair, the laces that come with them although a more 3D shape don't do anything different.

Fair enough - I'll get some bog standard laces I guess :p

This is my second pair of these boots - Most comfortable boot I've found yet :) But laces broke on both pairs in the same way :p

We're not talking abut "shoe" laces i.e. flat material but round hiking book laces which, for the vast majority, are more like a tube with an outer layer and (usually) a white inner layer. these all tend to be fairly generic so anything from GoOutdoors etc will be fine.

As above - search for Hiking Laces or Strong Boot laces on Amazon. Should throw up hundreds of braided laces which is what you'r after.

I replaced the laces on my Salomon 4D 3GTXs witj a pair from Amazon and they've een fine.

google for paracord or 3-4mm climbing accessory cord; there was a parcaord deal listed last month in hotukdeals
can get bright colours too and contribute to night time visibility.
