Sam 'n' Max episodes

I haven't noticed much talk on here of the new Sam n Max episodes,I'm currently playing through the first episode 'culture shock' and I'm really impressed!

The makers have definitely managed to recapture the old Sam n Max feel of the Lucas Arts days,the humour although lacking in places,for the most part is very witty and has had me chuckling on numerous occasions,this is no small feat on the part of the writers as I'm usually a right miserable git!

Graphically imo it looks lovely,playing it at 1600x1200(the game unfortunately doesn't seem to support 1920x1200)on a Dell 2407 and the colourful,cartoon style graphics work really well!

The gameplay and puzzles compared to the original are more simplistic,but with future episodes I would expect the difficulty level to ramp up slightly.Then again who the hell wants a Mensa test eh! This is supposed to be light entertainment afterall.

Anyone else playing and enjoying?

I love the new eppisodes my only complaint with 2 is that it is so short took me 2 hours to finish...

You're probably very brainy though! I'm quite thick! so the episodes are lasting longer for me.

indeed. I spent ages trying to work out what to do with that graffitying midget. It's so obvious when you realise but it took me forever to connect things.

I have ep2 but I haven't really got round to doing it. What I like about this style is it feels like I can just drop into it when I'm bored without needing to remember what's going on. Somehow though, it doesn't quite feel the same as the original. It has however been rather a long time since I played the original so my memory might be clouding things.

Yeah,that grafity kid stumped me for a while too,as you say,dead obvious really,but then it always seems that way when you know how!

I like Bosco's inconvenience store,$10,000 for a grenade launcher seems a bit steep though!

I didn't find the 2 buildings to the left of the station for ages :S

I always do that in point 'n' clicks, end up getting stuck for not looking around properly :mad:

but I think saying "email in trust" regarding a competitor negates the point of the rule and is a good way of getting suspended

First one took me ages too!

In my defence though, i hadn't played a game like it since...my last play through the original Sam and Max?

I have Situation Comedy but i haven't got round to starting it yet because if uni work.

Just completed the 2nd one in around 2 hours :eek:

Was a lot easier than the first one tbh and could have done with being harder. hopefully the following episodes will get harder.

Was a good laugh though I especialy liked Bosco's... How shall we say it Typical American English Inpersination Pip Pip!
